No Storm? BlackBerry PlayBook, The iPad Killer?

How's It Hanginnnn,

So, that storm, Tropical Storm Nicole, pretty much just walked right past Florida. We got like 1/4 inch of rain, that's about it. It's upsetting because the nice cool weather turned into disgusting humidity.
On another note, RIM (Research In Motion), announced the BlackBerry PlayBook. What they call the first "Professional Tablet," on the market. It's going to feature a 7" LCD display, capable of resolutions up to 1024x600, a 1ghz Dual Core processor, 1gb of RAM, and a  3MP front-facing camera for video conferencing, and a 5MP rear facing camera for pictures. Other features will include the new OS made by QNX, a company RIM purchased earlier. It's webkit browser supports full 10.1 flash, and it will also have a MicroUSB and MicroHDMI out.
All in all it seems like a great, wonderful, powerful tablet, probably the best that's been announced. Unfortunately, we have no release date, no price, and no talk on one of the most important things, battery life. With a dual core processor you can only imagine that the battery would be draining faster than it's competitors, but would it be worth it for the extra power? Would you still prefer an iPad, if so, why? Just because it's an Apple product?

It's a Beautiful Day...For a Hurricane.

What's Crackin www
For those that don't know, I live in Florida, the hurricane state. Right now we're getting a nice tropical storm and the weather outside at this very moment is actually beautiful. The temperature dropped probably ten or fifteen degrees and it's not raining for the time being, so it is great. It's pretty windy, but nothing we can't handle. Oh, it's starting to pour now, into the pocket goes the BlackBerry, back inside goes the Jared.

Cya internet!

Halo: Reach Status: Completed, T-Mobile Charging For SMS Services

Greetings Interwebz,
So last time I wrote (which was a while ago, sorry), I said I had purchased Halo Reach, and I just today beat the campaign. It was honestly one of the most amazing campaigns I had ever experienced. It kept me wanting more, and I was actually a little bit upset when it was over. There is however another level AFTER the credits, which was pretty fun. You simply get attacked by hordes of NPC Covenant and when you die it brings you to a scene that links back to the beginning of the game. It was really a great experience, I suggest it to anyone who owns or plans on owning an Xbox, especially with Bungie handing the torch over to Microsoft.

In other news, T-Mobile is now said to start charging for SMS services. These services SHOULD include things like Facebook, Twitter, ChaCha, kgb, and other services that would fall in to place. They wouldn't be charges towards the user, but rather to the providing company. However, T-Mobile said the fees would be waived to Facebook and Twitter. Executives of the other companies weren't too happy about this since it seems like T-Mobile is singling out companies that they want and don't want.

Anyways Interwebz, Speak To Ya Soon!

Sup Interwebz

Yo Interwebz, What's Crackin!
It's been a while, I know. I Apologize. I did in fact buy Halo Reach, and I must say, it is pretty epic. I'm yet to put down my Xbox controller. The levels are intense, the guns are epic. It's just a great game. It's something I would suggest all with an Xbox buy. Call of Duty: Black Ops is going to have to wait I guess. Halo is something that just seems ever expanding (Even though this is Bungie's last game in the franchise), Call of Duty always just seems like the same game over and over again. Halo is something I feel I could play forever. Anyways, Thanks for reading Guys. Peace!

Halo Reach, kgb and ChaCha Now?

So, Halo Reach came out, I haven't purchased it yet, but I'm seriously considering it. It seems like it's going to be one of the most epic games yet. The trailers are really intense for it. Anybody buy it? Was it Worth It?

Also, in my last post, I spoke about ChaCha, the service that answers questions for free when you text them (242-242). Well today I applied for a job at kgb. It's a service very similar to ChaCha, but they actually charge you per question. (542-542). Anyone ever used it? Did you have a good experience with it?

2010 MTV VMAs, Working for ChaCha - 242242

Heylo Interwebz,

Tonight is the night of the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Anyone gonna be watching? Personally I'm excited to see Linkin park perform. I'm really curious who is going to win what.

In other news, I recently applied and tested for a job as a guide at ChaCha.com. I started working today and I have to say, it's actually a whole lot of fun. It's also improving my searching skills, so that's good too. ChaCha, for those of you who don't know, is a text/call answer service. So basically you can text 242242 (or call 800-2ChaCha) and ask a question, and somebody will look it up on the internet and answer text you an answer within a couple of minutes. It's really simple to ask a question, and the best part is, it's free. Check it out.

Have a good night everybody. I'll be watching the VMAs, will you?

Remembering - September 11th

Hey interwebz,
I was sitting here today thinking of something to post about, and could not, for the life of me, think of anything to post about. Afterwards, it hit me, and I was like, "Oh, wow, it's September 11th." So here it is, my post, memorializing those lost, and those who put their lives on the line to save others, on September 11th. I hope none of you lost anyone on that day, and my wishes go out to everyone who did lose someone. If anything though, you can say that September 11th was the one day you actually felt like a member of one nation, the greatest nation (no offense meant to others), but it was personally, one of the only moments I felt like Americans broadcasted and received a signal of unity.
Have a good day everyone.

Dell/Alienware - Horrible, Or Is It Just Me?

Greetings Interwebz,

I personally have been a Dell customer for just around four years (I know this since my warranty is about to run out, exciting). Throughout these four years, I've experienced some of the worst times of my life, some because of their fail computers, and others because of their fail tech support. I recently received my 5th computer from dell (the 4th replacement computer), and I'm almost satisfied.
I Started out my Dell customer career with an Inspiron E-1505
After that one failed to work (the day i received it), they went ahead and offered me a replacement, which was an "upgrade," an XPS M1710. I Was ecstatic, the computer had lights all over it!

Guess what happened, that computer broke as well, though this one lasted almost a year. Granted, I did drop it once and the LCD detached from the base, but other than that i had to get multiple charger replacements, and motherboard replacements, and audio card and video card replacements. Really a very "pleasant" experience, right? Wrong...
So as a replacement for my XPS M1710, I received an XPS M1730, now, I was really excited, this computer was a beast!
For those of you that are complete nerds like I am, with this laptop (Don't remember specs on the others, haha), I received an Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 @ 2.4ghz, which was pretty good at the time. Also got an nVidia Geforce 8800M, and it was the first laptop with the Aegia PhysX processor unit. Pretty good, right? Well this one lasted almost 2 years before it decided to falter (entirely). Granted, once again, I did some damage to it, but even before that it was pretty awful. So they sent me another laptop....now they're only allowed to go up, and with the XPS laptop line discontinued, they had only 1 place to go...Alienware...

So I received the first Alienware computer I had ever seen in person, was really exciting. I ended up with an Alienware M17x-R1, which featured an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000, an nVidia GTX 260M and an nVidia Geforce 9400M for stealth/power saver mode. But, the screen was only 900p, where my XPS was 1200-, the trackpad didn't work correctly, the microphone array didn't work correctly, and the battery wouldn't charge, so once again, they replaced my laptop, and I ended up with an Alienware M17x-R2. Now, this thing, is the beastliest of beasts. My model featured an Intel Core i7 820QM @ 1.7ghz, with turbo mode up to 3.06ghz, 6GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM, a 500gb HDD @ 7.2k , my 1200p LCD, and a buncha other stuff. So I'm satisfied now I guess, but the microphone array on this doesn't work either, so they're replacing the mic and my sound card and what not. We'll see how it turns out.

What kinda computers do you guys got? Any experiences with Dell that were good? Any that were bad? Do tell.

Must Be A Good Day

I walked outside, and what did I see? This rainbow. Got me thinking, today has been a pretty good day, just made me feel like nothing was going to go wrong. How have all of your days been going? Anything good? Anything bad?

PS- I know it's not a double rainbow, sorry. Haha

The 404 Podcast (CNET Ftw), HP Suing Mark Hurd.

What's Up Internet,
Credit: Cnet.com, The 404 podcast

I don't know how many of you visit Cnet.com regularly, but I know everyone's been there at one point or another (in some way, shape, or form). Whether it's download.com, cnet news, cnet reviews, or even cnet-tv. It's pretty much a hub of not only news in technology, but just in everyday happenings. The 404 though, is an amazing show I happen to watch daily. The hosts, Jeff Bakalar, Wilson Tang, and Justin Yu, are some of the funniest people I've seen on the internet and they have a way of feeding off of eachother. It's something I would recommend to anyone wanting a good laugh, even if   you're not tech savvy.
So Check Out The 404 Podcast, (Weekdays @ 11:00 AM EST) and if you like it check out their Other Shows,

In other news, HP is suing former CEO Mark Hurd.
"Court documents filed Tuesday morning in California's Santa Clara County show that HP is accusing its former CEO of breach of contract and threatened misappropriation of trade secrets."
                        Credit: Cnet.com

Only one day after the announcement of his new employment at Oracle as the new vice president, HP announced a lawsuit for apparently revealing trade secrets. The suit stated ...
"Despite being paid millions of dollars in cash, stock, and stock options in exchange for Hurd's agreements to protect HP's trade secrets and confidential information during his employment and following his departure from his positions at HP as chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president, HP is informed and believes and thereon alleges that Hurd has put HP's most valuable trade secrets and confidential information in peril."
                           Credit: Cnet.com

I wonder how this is gonna play out. We'll have to wait and see I guess. For more info head over to CNET and check out their article.

Anyone subscribed to any podcasts, any on cnet? name them. Any opinions on the HP/Mark Hurd suit? You know what to do.

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard....What? Netflix - Epic?

So, I just watched this movie, The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard...that movie was the most absolutely ridiculous thing I have ever seen. It makes me happy that I have Netflix and didn't have to spend any money on it. I use my Netflix account all the time though, makes me happy that I have an Xbox to watch movies on my T.V. This movie though, absolutely awful, I think I got one good laugh out of it, and about 60 moments of "wtf is this." Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Anyone seen it though? Got Netflix? Favorite movies?

Labor Day Marathons...

So today, it's labor day (Happy Labor Day), what does that mean? Marathons...
The one I'm going to be watching?
Pawn Stars
There's also an NCIS marathon, but they have a marathon of that show every weekend, I've never been able to figure out why. It's a pretty good show, but new episodes in these marathons are rare, it's always just the same episodes, and they never play them in order. Nothing I love more than seeing a "To Be Continued..." and then a completely different episode goes on. That's just my two cents though. You guys got a favorite TV show or a marathon you'll be watching today?

Let Me Just Leave My Baby Here

Wow, that's interesting. Just walking my dog and what do I see? A baby stroller, just left alone in a parking lot. There was nothing in it, but it would have been kind of funny if there was. Do you think you could ever just forget your child?
